On Thursday, June 21, experts from the UPMC Advanced Heart Failure Center will host an educational town hall forum to provide information to patients with severe heart failure and health care professionals about the latest treatments, including medical therapy, ventricular assist device (VAD) therapy, surgical approaches, and heart transplantation. Topics will include:
- Advances in the medical and surgical treatment of advanced heart failure
- Determining who is an appropriate candidate for VAD therapy or heart transplant
- Social, emotional, and financial considerations
- Personal experiences from patients

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This program is intended for physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals as well as heart failure patients and their families who want more information about treatment options offered through UPMC’s Advanced Heart Failure Center and Transplantation Services.
EVENT DETAILS
The event begins at 6 p.m. in Assembly Hall, first floor, UPMC Passavant – McCandless. Light refreshments will be served, and complimentary parking is offered at UPMC Passavant parking garage.
